Indian Cricket Sensation MS Dhoni

India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni defended the aggressive approach of his young batsmen Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir.

“They go for their shots and there will be times when they fall attempting a stroke and could be criticised for doing so. But you need to back them.” Dhoni added that Uthappa and Gambhir were maturing as batsmen.

The India captain praised his spinners and said the nature of the pitch prompted the inclusion of left-arm spinner Murali Kartik. He said the ODI and the Twenty20 wins in Mumbai would give his team the confidence ahead of the five-match ODI home series against Pakistan. “This game is more about confidence than technique,” he said.
